Why should I replace both the left and right sides at the same time?
Replacing engine mounts in pairs is highly recommended. Because both mounts support the exact same engine weight and counteract the same rotational torque, they degrade at the identical rate. If your left mount has collapsed and leaked its fluid, your right mount is undoubtedly compromised as well.
Are the left and right mounts identical?
No! Because of the packaging of the turbocharger and steering rack, the mounts are highly side-specific. This convenient bundle includes both the dedicated Left Side (22116854251) and the dedicated Right Side (22116854252) so you have exactly what you need to complete the job correctly.
Will these fit my 328i or 330i?
No! This is a critical distinction. These specific engine mounts are engineered exclusively for the N13 1.6L Turbo engine. If you have a 2.0L engine (like the N20 or B48 found in the 320i, 328i, or 330i), these will absolutely not fit your engine block brackets.
How do I know if my mounts are bad?
The two most common symptoms of failed F30/F20 engine mounts are severe vibrations transferring into the cabin while sitting at a stoplight, and visible trails of dark, dried fluid leaking down the aluminum subframe beneath the engine mounts.
