Is the Right arm different from the Left arm?
Yes. On the X5 and X6, the control arms are side-specific due to the mounting angles on the subframe. 31126773950 is for the Right (Passenger) side, and 31126773949 is for the Left (Driver) side.
How do I know if this wishbone is bad?
Common symptoms include a clunking noise when driving over small bumps, steering that feels "vague" or wanders while driving straight, and accelerated wear on the inner edges of your front tires.
Is this the same as the "Thrust Arm"?
No. The front suspension uses two lower arms. The Forward arm (Thrust Arm) is curved and controls braking vibration. This Rearward arm (Wishbone) is straighter and controls the lateral position of the wheel.
Do I need an alignment after installation?
Yes. Replacing a lower wishbone directly affects the camber and toe settings. A professional 4-wheel alignment is mandatory after installation to ensure even tire wear and proper vehicle tracking.
