Frequently Asked Questions

Can I just have my old Porsche brake rotors machined/resurfaced instead of buying new ones?
A: Porsche strictly advises against machining or "turning" cross-drilled high-performance brake rotors. Resurfacing removes critical mass from the rotor, making it highly susceptible to immediate warping and thermal cracking around the drilled holes. Replacing the rotors is the only factory-approved, safe method of repair.
Will these rotors fit my Panamera if it has the yellow Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB)?
A: No. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) utilize entirely different, significantly larger calipers and specialized friction materials. These cast iron rotors cannot be substituted for carbon-ceramic discs.
Why do I need to replace both the left and right rotors at the same time?
A: Braking forces must be perfectly symmetrical across the front axle to keep the vehicle stable. If you replace only one rotor, the uneven thickness and friction surface will cause the vehicle to pull violently to one side under heavy braking, which is incredibly dangerous.
Do these rotors come with new mounting set screws?
A: Genuine Porsche rotors typically do not include the small Torx set screws used to hold the rotor to the hub during installation. It is highly recommended to purchase new set screws, as the old ones often strip or seize due to heat cycling.
