Frequently Asked Questions

Can I just replace the torn CV boot instead of buying a whole new drive shaft?
If you caught the torn boot immediately (before any grease leaked out or dirt got in), a boot replacement is possible. However, if you are already hearing a "clicking" or "clunking" noise, the internal bearings of the Constant Velocity (CV) joint have already been permanently scored and damaged by dirt and lack of lubrication. At that point, the entire shaft must be replaced to prevent a catastrophic failure at speed.
Why does this part start with an "4S0" part number?
Lamborghini is owned by the Volkswagen/ Group. The Huracan and the were co-developed on the exact same high-performance platform. They share the same 5.2L V10 engine, dual-clutch transmission, and driveline components. This part number reflects that shared, world-class engineering.
Is this for the driver or passenger side?
Part number 4S0501203F is strictly for the Rear Left side of the vehicle, which corresponds to the Driver's Side on standard Left-Hand Drive (LHD) cars.
Should I replace both the left and right rear drive shafts at the same time?
Unlike suspension bushings or brake pads, it is not strictly mandatory to replace CV axles in pairs unless your car has extremely high mileage. If only the left boot tore due to road debris, you can safely replace just the left shaft. However, if you regularly track the car or do frequent Launch Control starts, replacing both is a smart preventative measure.
