Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the forward or rearward lower control arm?
This specific part number (A2233303403) is the Rearward lower control arm, commonly known as the "Spring Link" because it serves as the lower perch for the air suspension strut. If you need the forward arm (the Tension Strut), you require a completely different part number.
Are the left and right sides the same?
Yes. Unlike the forward tension struts which are geometrically mirrored, Mercedes engineered this specific rearward spring link to be perfectly symmetrical on standard 4MATIC models. Part number A2233303403 can be installed on either the Driver (Left) or Passenger (Right) side of the front axle.
Do I need a wheel alignment after installing this?
Absolutely. Anytime you replace major structural suspension components like a spring link, your vehicle's camber and toe measurements will drastically shift. You must have a professional four-wheel alignment performed immediately after installation to prevent destroying your expensive tires.
Can I torque this arm down while the car is raised on the lift?
No! Mercedes-Benz multi-link suspension bolts must be torqued to final specifications only when the vehicle's suspension is loaded at its normal, static ride height (resting on its wheels or a drive-on alignment rack). Tightening the inner bushing bolts while the suspension is drooping on a lift will cause the new rubber hydro-bushing to pre-load, twist, and tear within a few hundred miles.
