Does this set cover both the left and right rear wheels?
Yes. Brake pads are always sold as an "axle set." This single box contains enough brake pads (usually 4 pads total) to completely service both the Rear Left and Rear Right calipers.
Will these fit my Cayenne with white or yellow brake calipers?
No. This specific rear pad compound and shape (9Y0698451AE) is engineered exclusively for standard iron brake rotors. It will not fit models equipped with Porsche Surface Coated Brakes (PSCB - identified by white calipers and mirror-finish rotors) or Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB - identified by massive yellow calipers).
If my dashboard light hasn't come on yet, do I still need the sensors?
Yes, it is highly recommended. Even if the old sensor hasn't been triggered (sliced open) yet, the plastic sensor heads become extremely brittle due to thousands of miles of intense brake heat. Attempting to pry an old sensor out of an old pad to reuse it almost always results in the sensor shattering. Replacing them alongside the pads is standard Porsche maintenance protocol.
Do I need a diagnostic tool to replace these?
Yes. Because the 9Y0 Cayenne features an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) integrated into the rear calipers, you generally need a bidirectional OBD2 diagnostic scanner to command the electronic caliper pistons to retract into "Service Mode" before you can manually push the pistons back and remove the old pads.
