Why does my Porsche part have an Audi/VW part number on it?
The 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 engine (EA825) in your Panamera or Cayenne was co-developed by Porsche and Audi under the Volkswagen Auto Group (VAG). Therefore, the exact same physical thermostat uses standard VAG part numbers (starting with 0P2). Buying this OEM-spec part saves you from paying the massive markup associated with buying it at the Porsche dealership!
Will this fit the V6 Cayenne or Panamera?
No! This specific thermostat is engineered strictly for the 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 engines (found in GTS, Turbo, Turbo GT, and Turbo S E-Hybrid trims). It will not fit the 2.9L or 3.0L V6 powertrains. Please verify your engine type before purchasing.
What is the difference between all the letter revisions (A, B, C, D, E)?
Nothing except the production date. The manufacturer frequently updates part numbers to reflect minor manufacturing improvements, supplier changes, or updated gasket materials across production years. The base number 0P2121115 and its alphabetical suffixes (up to the newest 0P2121115E) are all fully interchangeable factory revisions of this exact same thermostat assembly.
Why are my cooling fans screaming after I turn off the car?
While it is normal for the fans to run briefly to cool the "Hot-V" turbos, if your fans are constantly running on high speed while driving and roaring long after shutting the car off, it is a classic Porsche fail-safe symptom. The engine computer detects a fault with the thermostat or coolant temperature, and runs the fans on maximum to prevent the engine from melting down.
