Does this assembly include the heat exchanger (oil cooler)?
Yes. Unlike some bare aftermarket housings that force you to transfer your old, potentially contaminated cooler, this OEM-spec unit arrives fully assembled. The aluminum oil cooler is securely bolted to the main housing directly from the factory.
Are the engine block mounting gaskets included?
Yes. The critical rubber profile gaskets that seal the housing's oil and coolant passages against the engine block are pre-installed. Note: We highly recommend carefully cleaning and degreasing the mating surface on the engine block before installation to ensure a perfect, leak-free seal.
Will this fit the longitudinally mounted C-Class or E-Class?
No. While the transverse M270 and the longitudinal M274 engines share similar architectures, their packaging and fluid routing are different. The M270/M260 engines are mounted sideways in front-wheel-drive biased platforms (A, CLA, GLA, GLB). If you have a rear-wheel-drive biased C-Class or E-Class, you require a different housing designed specifically for longitudinal mounting.
Is there anything else I should replace while doing this job?
Since you will be bleeding the cooling system and opening the oil passages to replace this housing, it is highly recommended to perform a complete fluid service. You should replace your engine oil, install a fresh oil filter cartridge, and flush the cooling system with fresh Mercedes-Benz approved coolant to guarantee the integrity of your new heat exchanger.
