Frequently Asked Questions

Are the left and right front air struts different?
Yes. Because the lower portion of the shock absorber features a specialized mounting fork designed to clear the front drive axles and attach to the sway bar end links, these struts are strictly side-specific. A2533206300 is engineered exclusively for the Front Right, while A2533206200 is engineered exclusively for the Front Left. They cannot be swapped.
Do I need to buy the shock absorber and the air spring separately?
No. This specific product profile covers the complete, fully assembled struts. The internal hydraulic shock absorber and the pneumatic air bladder are integrated together. You do not need a spring compressor or specialized tools to assemble the strut prior to installation.
Does this fit standard steel-spring GLC models?
No. These specific struts are designed strictly for GLC models equipped from the factory with the Airmatic suspension package (Code 489). Vehicles equipped with standard steel coil springs use completely different mounting hardware and lack the electronic connections for these struts.
Why should I replace both at the same time?
Internal shock valves and rubber air bladders wear at the exact same rate. If the right strut has developed a leak or blown its hydraulic seals, the left strut has endured the exact same mileage, heavy cornering forces, and pothole impacts. Replacing them as a matched pair is the industry standard to ensure the front of the vehicle sits perfectly level, steers evenly, and avoids repeating expensive labor costs a few months later.
