OEM Mercedes-Benz GLS Parts

The GLS is Mercedes' full-size three-row SUV and the flagship of the SUV range — in effect the S-Class of the segment. Our catalogue covers the X166 GLS (2016–2019) and the current X167 (2019 onward), including AMG 63 variants and the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600.

Every part is matched to chassis code, engine code and production date. The GLS is the renamed GL-Class, and the X166 designation spans both — identify the vehicle by production date rather than by name. See GL-Class parts → for the earlier cars. Send us your VIN and we will confirm before you order.

Mercedes-Benz GLS Maintenance Parts

GLS servicing consumes large filters, large brake hardware and a lot of fluid. Transfer case and differential fluid belong on the schedule even though many owners never see them listed.

Filters and service consumables. Filters follow the engine family rather than the model year. Order the complete service kit — the oil filter housing O-ring and sump plug crush washer are single-use and the items most often missing mid-job. Cabin filters on a three-row vehicle in Gulf dust deserve a materially shorter interval than the book figure, and there are often two of them. Air filters → · Oil filters → · Service kits →

Brakes. Mass makes brakes a genuine consumable on this vehicle, and pad and disc specification varies by engine and by whether AMG or performance brakes were fitted. The wear sensor is a separate part number front and rear and is single-use. Mercedes brake pads & rotors → · Brake rotors →

Cooling. M276 and M278 engines seep from the thermostat housing and plastic pipework in the engine vee long before any temperature warning — a sweet smell and a falling expansion tank are the first evidence. The OM642 diesel has its known oil cooler seal failure. A three-row SUV in Gulf traffic works its cooling pack hard, and radiator stacks block with dust between the fins, causing overheating that clears on the move — inspect the stack before condemning a thermostat or pump. About Mercedes-Benz GLS Parts

Parts for the GLS divide by generation before anything else. Identifying the chassis code — X166 and X167 — is the first step in ordering correctly, and facelift revisions within a generation matter as much as the generation change itself.

X166 (2016–2019) — The facelifted and renamed GL-Class, with M276 and M278 petrol engines, the OM642 diesel, and the AMG GLS 63. AIRMATIC is standard. Because the rename was a facelift rather than a new platform, a great deal carries across from the late GL-Class — lighting and front-end components are where the differences concentrate.

X167 (2019–) — A new platform with E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL offered, 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance, and the Maybach GLS 600 added at the top of the range. Driver assistance hardware and lighting are model-year specific and revised frequently. Very little suspension or driveline hardware carries over from the X166.

Air suspension — the dominant cost. Every GLS runs air springs, and on a vehicle of this mass the system works harder than on any saloon. Struts, compressor, valve block, air lines and height sensors are one connected system. The failure chain is consistent: a strut develops a leak, the compressor runs continuously to compensate, and the compressor burns out second. If the vehicle settles overnight, rises slowly, or the compressor runs longer than it used to, act immediately — catching the strut early often saves the compressor. Replace struts in axle pairs. In GCC heat the compressor works considerably harder than the European design case assumed. Air suspension compressors → · Shocks & springs → · Axle & steering →

Suspension and steering. Control arm bushings carry well over two and a half tonnes and wear on a schedule set by mass rather than mileage — a knock over expansion joints, then vague on-centre steering, then inner-edge tyre wear misdiagnosed as alignment. Mercedes supplies most arms complete with bushing and ball joint pressed in. A four-wheel alignment is required afterwards. Control arms → · Wheel hubs & bearings →

Transmission and driveline. The 7G-Tronic and 9G-Tronic both appear across this platform, degrading ahead of their long-life billing in a heavy vehicle in Gulf heat. Harsh 1–2 shifts, delayed engagement from Park and lock-up shudder around 40–70 km/h are the early signals. The 4MATIC transfer case carries its own fluid and its own service requirement and is routinely overlooked — particularly on vehicles used for towing. Electrical and sensors. Check battery and charging health before condemning any module — low voltage on a vehicle with this parasitic load produces a multi-module fault cascade, including air suspension errors, that clears once voltage is restored. Beyond that, most module failures are sensor, earth or connector faults. Driver assistance cameras and radar are model-year specific and generally require calibration after replacement. Genuine Mercedes-Benz GLS Accessories

We supply genuine and OEM trim, body and lighting components for the GLS. Trim numbers are tied to interior colour code, seat configuration and equipment level, and Maybach GLS 600 items are largely specific to that variant — send your VIN with any body or trim enquiry. FAQ

Is the GLS the same as the GL-Class? The X166 GL became the GLS in 2016 via a facelift rather than a new platform, so late GL and early GLS share extensively. The X167 from 2019 is a different platform. Identify by production date.

My GLS sits low overnight. An air strut leaking down, in almost every case. The compressor failure that often follows is a consequence of it running continuously. Replace the strut early, in axle pairs.

It overheats in traffic but is fine on the move. That points to airflow rather than coolant flow — a dust-blocked radiator stack or a failed fan. Check those before replacing a pump or thermostat.

Does the transfer case need servicing? Yes. The 4MATIC transfer case carries its own fluid separate from the gearbox and is frequently overlooked, particularly on vehicles that tow.

How quickly will my order ship? In-stock orders dispatch from our UAE or USA warehouse with full tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions

    • Genuine Parts: These are the exact components installed at the factory, arriving in the original vehicle manufacturer’s branded packaging (e.g., Porsche or BMW).
    • OEM Parts: These are produced by the same manufacturers that supply the car brands (e.g., Bosch, Brembo, Lemförder) but are sold in the supplier’s own packaging, often at a more competitive price.
    • Aftermarket Parts: These are third-party components designed to meet or exceed original specifications.
