The braking system is the single most critical safety component on any car, and on European performance and luxury vehicles it is also the most specification-sensitive. Pad compound, disc diameter and wear sensor part numbers vary by brake code and option package rather than by model, which is why two apparently identical cars frequently take different parts. We supply genuine OEM and factory-specification pads across every marque we serve, including carbon ceramic compounds.
Send us your VIN or brake code and we will confirm the correct pads before you order.
Compound must match the car, not just the caliper. M Sport, AMG Line, S line and equivalent option packages use different pad compounds and often different disc diameters from the standard car. Fitting a standard-compound pad to a performance-braked vehicle is the most common cause of the low-speed groan and early fade that owners blame on the discs.
Carbon ceramic requires ceramic-specific pads. On CCM-equipped cars — standard across the McLaren range, common on AMG, RS, M and Ferrari models, optional on many others — fitting a conventional pad destroys the ceramic friction layer within a single service interval. Ceramic discs cannot be resurfaced, so the only remedy is replacement at many times the cost of the pads that caused the damage. Confirm the brake specification before ordering.
Wear sensors are single-use. The pad wear sensor is a separate part number front and rear and is designed to be destroyed in service. Replace it with the pads rather than reusing it — a reused sensor gives a false reading or none at all.
Discs and pads are a system. Fitting new pads to a worn or lipped disc compromises both. Where the disc shows a lip, heat cracking or measurable thickness variation, replace the pair. Browse brake rotors & discs →
Cars that stand. Surface corrosion on a stored car's discs clears with normal use, but pitting under a pad parked against a wet disc does not. Inspect before assuming the discs are serviceable.

How do I know which pads my car takes? The brake code on your vehicle data record determines it, not the model name. Send us your VIN and we will confirm the correct compound and disc diameter before dispatch.
Can I fit standard pads to a car with carbon ceramic discs? No. Conventional compounds destroy the ceramic friction layer, and CCM discs cannot be resurfaced. This is one of the most expensive mistakes possible in brake servicing.
Do I need to replace the wear sensor? Yes. It is a single-use item designed to be worn through, and it is a separate part number front and rear. Order it with the pads.
Should I replace discs at the same time? If the discs show a lip, heat cracking or measurable thickness variation, yes. New pads on a worn disc compromise both and typically bring you back sooner than doing the job once.
My brakes squeal — are the pads faulty? Usually not. Squeal most often traces to compound mismatch, missing or incorrectly fitted shims, or glazing. Read our guide on why brakes squeal →
