BMW 2 Series Parts | Genuine OEM — F22, G42, M2, Active Tourer

OEM BMW 2 Series Parts

The BMW 2 Series covers two entirely different cars sharing one badge. The F22, F23, G42 coupes and convertibles are longitudinal rear-wheel-drive machines descended from the 1 Series coupe, home to the M2. The Active Tourer and Gran Coupe are transverse front-wheel-drive cars on the UKL platform. Nothing structural carries between them.

Every part is sourced through the official BMW OEM supply chain and matched to chassis code, engine code and production date. Given the platform split, ordering by "2 Series" alone is the most common fitment error on this model. Send us your VIN and we will confirm before you order.

Generations of the BMW 2 Series

F22 / F23 (2014–2021) — Coupe and convertible, rear-wheel drive, the direct successor to the 1 Series coupe. N20 and B48 four-cylinders, N55 and B58 straight-sixes in the M235i and M240i. Recurring service items are the electric water pump, charge pipe and boost hoses, front control arm bushings, and on early N20 cars the timing chain.

F87 M2 and M2 Competition (2016–2021) — N55 in the original, S55 in the Competition and CS. Different brake, cooling and suspension specification from the M240i — the S55 cars in particular have their own cooling package and charge cooling circuit. Do not order M2 parts from an M240i listing.

F45 / F46 Active Tourer and Gran Tourer (2014–2021) — The architectural break. Transverse front-wheel drive on UKL2, B38 three-cylinder and B48 four-cylinder, with xDrive available. Suspension, driveline and transmission share nothing with the coupes.

F44 Gran Coupe (2019–) — Four-door on the front-drive platform, including the M235i xDrive. Shares its architecture with the F40 1 Series rather than with the F22 coupe.

G42 (2021–) and G87 M2 — The current coupe, back on the rear-drive CLAR platform shared with the G20 3 Series. B48 and B58 engines, S58 in the G87 M2. Many chassis and cooling components are shared with the G20 rather than with the outgoing F22.

U06 Active Tourer (2021–) — Current front-drive model year range, with frequent mid-year revisions. VIN confirmation is the only reliable route here.

About BMW 2 Series Parts

Brakes. M Sport and standard packages use different disc diameters and pad compounds, and the M2 differs again from the M240i. The pad wear sensor is a separate part number front and rear and is single-use. Fitting a standard-compound pad to an M Sport car is the usual cause of the low-speed groan and early fade owners blame on the discs. BMW brake pads & rotors →

Suspension and steering. On the rear-drive coupes, front control arm and thrust arm bushings are the defining wear item — steering shimmy under braking first, then a knock over expansion joints, then inner-edge tyre wear misdiagnosed as alignment. BMW supplies these as a complete arm with the bushing pressed in, which is the correct repair. Front-drive Active Tourer and Gran Coupe models use different geometry entirely. Cooling. N20 and N55 engines use an electric water pump with a defined replacement interval; proactive replacement is far cheaper than the overheating damage a failure causes. On B48 and B58 engines the plastic coolant distributor housing seeps long before any temperature warning appears. S55 M2 Competition cars run an additional charge cooling circuit that is often overlooked at service. In GCC ambient temperatures, hoses and expansion tanks harden well ahead of the European design case. Coolant parts → · Radiators →

Filters and service consumables. BMW's condition-based service calculation assumes factory-specification consumables and the correct LL-01 or LL-04 oil. Filters follow the engine family, not the model — an N20 and a B48 in the same F22 body take different oil filter elements. Order the complete service kit: the sump plug seal and filter housing O-ring are single-use and are the items most often missing when a job stalls halfway. Transmission. Rear-drive coupes use the ZF 8HP automatic or, on the M2, a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT — three different fluid specifications, none interchangeable. The 8HP is described as lifetime-fill but degrades well ahead of that in Gulf heat: harsh 1–2 shifts, delayed engagement from Park and lock-up shudder around 40–70 km/h are the early signals. Front-drive models use a different gearbox family again. Confirm which before ordering. Transmission parts → · Transmission mounts → · BMW engine mounts →

Electrical and sensors. Most faults presented as module failures are sensor or connector faults — crankshaft and camshaft position sensors, oxygen sensors, wheel speed sensors, corroded tail lamp connectors. The ECU calibration is built around the OEM sensor's output curve, so an aftermarket unit reading a few percent off runs the engine permanently compensated without ever setting a fault code. Genuine BMW 2 Series Accessories

We supply genuine and OEM accessories and trim for the 2 Series — interior trim, exterior styling and model-specific fittings. Trim part numbers are tied tightly to interior colour code and equipment level, so send your VIN with any trim enquiry rather than ordering from a model-year match. FAQ

Are 2 Series Coupe and Active Tourer parts interchangeable? Almost never. The coupes are longitudinal rear-wheel drive; the Active Tourer and Gran Coupe are transverse front-wheel drive on the UKL platform. Suspension, driveline and transmission parts do not cross over. Check the chassis code before ordering.

Do M2 parts differ from M240i parts? Yes. The F87 M2 Competition uses the S55 engine with its own cooling package, and brake and suspension specification differs from the M240i. The G87 M2 uses the S58. These are listed separately wherever the part number differs.

Does the G42 share parts with the G20 3 Series? A considerable number, yes — both sit on the CLAR platform, so many chassis and cooling components are common. More carries over from the G20 than from the outgoing F22.

How do I identify my engine? The engine code is on your VIN record and the engine bay identification label. Filters, cooling parts and service kits follow the engine family rather than the model year, so it is the single most useful detail you can give us.

How quickly will my order ship? In-stock orders dispatch from our UAE or USA warehouse depending on availability, with full tracking from dispatch to delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

    • Genuine Parts: These are the exact components installed at the factory, arriving in the original vehicle manufacturer’s branded packaging (e.g., Porsche or BMW).
    • OEM Parts: These are produced by the same manufacturers that supply the car brands (e.g., Bosch, Brembo, Lemförder) but are sold in the supplier’s own packaging, often at a more competitive price.
    • Aftermarket Parts: These are third-party components designed to meet or exceed original specifications.
