What is the difference between the LC and LD suffixes?
In the Audi parts hierarchy, LC is designated for the Left (Driver) side, and LD is for the Right (Passenger) side. They are calibrated specifically for the weight distribution of the engine and are not interchangeable.
Why do these mounts have an electrical plug?
These are "Switchable" mounts. The Audi engine computer sends a signal to an internal solenoid to change how the hydraulic fluid moves inside the mount. This allows the car to be perfectly smooth at a stoplight while still being stiff enough for performance driving.
Will these clear the "Motor Mount - Open Circuit" error code?
Yes. If your current mounts have failed electronically or leaked their fluid, installing these new units will allow you to clear the fault codes using a diagnostic tool like VCDS or OBD11.
Should I replace the heat shields as well?
These mounts are designed to reuse your factory metal heat shields. We highly recommend transferring the shields during installation, as they are critical for protecting the rubber and internal electronics from exhaust heat.
