Will this axle fit the left (driver's) side of my Huracán?
No. The drivetrain and suspension geometry on the Huracán and R8 is asymmetrical. This specific part number (4S0501204F) is engineered exclusively for the Rear Right (Passenger) side. The left side is slightly different in overall length to accommodate the offset of the transmission, and requires its own unique part number (typically 4S0501203A or similar).
Can I just replace the torn rubber CV boot instead of the entire shaft?
If you or your mechanic catch a torn boot immediately—before the grease escapes and dirt enters—it is sometimes possible to disassemble the axle, repack the joint, and install a new boot. However, if you are already hearing a "clicking" or "clunking" noise while driving, the metal bearings inside the joint are permanently scarred and destroyed. At that point, a new boot will not fix the mechanical damage; the entire axle assembly must be replaced.
Why does my Lamborghini axle use a part number starting with "4S0"?
In the Volkswagen Auto Group (VAG) parts numbering system, the 4S0 chassis prefix denotes the Gen-2 Audi R8 platform. Because the Lamborghini Huracán and the Gen-2 Audi R8 were co-developed side-by-side and share their entire underlying aluminum/carbon-fiber spaceframe and 5.2L V10 powertrain, it is completely standard for your Lamborghini to utilize Audi-stamped drivetrain components.
Do I need to replace the main axle nut?
Absolutely. The massive center axle nut that secures the outer splines of this shaft to the wheel hub is a "torque-to-yield" stretch fastener. It is strictly a single-use item. Reusing the old nut will result in improper wheel bearing preload and potential catastrophic failure at high speeds.
