Does this compressor come pre-filled with oil?
Most OEM replacement compressors are shipped with a baseline amount of shipping oil to protect the internals during transit, but you must not assume it is the correct final amount. Your certified A/C technician must completely drain the shipping fluid, measure it, and refill the compressor with the exact amount and viscosity of PAG 46 oil required by the Land Rover workshop manual.
Should I replace anything else while doing this job?
Yes. Whenever an A/C compressor is replaced, it is an industry-standard requirement (and strictly necessary for warranty validity) to also replace the Receiver Drier / Accumulator. The drier contains a desiccant bag that absorbs moisture; once the system is opened to the atmosphere during the repair, the old drier is instantly ruined. You should also strictly replace the rubber O-rings on the suction and discharge lines.
Does this fit the newer 3.0L Supercharged V6 models?
No. This specific compressor (LR056364) is strictly engineered for the early-generation 5.0L V8 petrol and 4.4L V8 diesel block designs. When Land Rover introduced the 3.0L Supercharged V6 engines in later model years, they modified the accessory drive layouts, mounting geometries, and port lines.
