Frequently Asked Questions

Will these pads fit my GT3 or GT4 equipped with Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB)?
Absolutely not. This is a highly critical distinction. These brake pads (9GT698151T) are formulated strictly for standard Iron (Steel) brake rotors. If your vehicle was highly optioned with the massive Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system—identifiable by Yellow brake calipers—these iron-compound pads will instantly and catastrophically destroy your immensely expensive ceramic rotors. You must verify your rotor type before purchasing.
Does this kit fit the standard Base, S, or GTS trims of the 718 or 911?
Generally, no. This specific massive front pad shape is engineered exclusively for the motorsport-derived suspension uprights and calipers found on the "GT" lineup (GT3, GT4, Spyder, etc.). The standard Carrera, Boxster, and Cayman models utilize completely different, smaller front brake calipers.
Why are the electronic wear sensors included in this kit?
If your Porsche is currently displaying a "Brake Pad Wear" warning on the dashboard, the sacrificial tip of your old electronic wear sensors (9GT907637) has physically ground away against the spinning brake rotor. This permanently breaks the electrical circuit. You cannot reuse the old sensors; you must plug in the brand-new wear sensors included in this bundle to successfully clear the warning message and reset the vehicle's monitoring system.
Should I replace the brake rotors at the same time?
It is highly recommended, especially if the car sees track duty. The aggressive friction compounds used in modern Porsche GT cars place a massive thermal load on the cast-iron rotors, often carving deep grooves or creating heat-checking (micro-cracks) over time. Installing perfectly flat, brand-new pads onto deeply grooved or heat-fatigued rotors will result in terrible brake squeal, rapid uneven pad wear, and significantly compromised stopping distances.
