Genuine vs OEM vs Aftermarket Bentley Parts

Many Bentley owners assume Genuine Parts — recognisable by their blue and white packaging — are the only acceptable choice. The reality is more nuanced, and each option has a legitimate place depending on what you are prioritising.

Bentley Genuine Parts are sourced directly from the manufacturer in official branded packaging, offering complete assurance of factory specification and traceability — the standard choice for restoration, warranty-sensitive service, or maintaining originality on a collector-grade example.

OEM Bentley components are frequently produced by the very same suppliers who manufacture Genuine parts, delivered without the branded packaging and its associated cost — identical engineering and materials at a more accessible price.

Premium aftermarket alternatives undergo quality vetting and offer specifications built to match factory components, with meaningful cost savings and manufacturing from tier-one suppliers. For braking, suspension and engine components we would steer you to Genuine or OEM; aftermarket is reasonable for trim and non-structural items. Read the full comparison →

Bentley OEM Parts by Category

Bentley builds each vehicle by hand at Crewe, with service intervals defined at 5,000 to 10,000 miles or annually — more frequent than most luxury competitors. Every part in our catalogue is cross-referenced to your model generation, powertrain and production year.

Brakes — Pads, Discs & Sensors

Bentley brake systems are calibrated to manage the considerable weight and performance envelope of each model. The Continental GT and Flying Spur carry significant kerb weight placing high thermal demand on consumables, particularly on W12 Speed and Gen 1 cars used at sustained speed. Wear sensors should be inspected at every service — delayed replacement accelerates disc scoring and increases cost substantially. The Bentayga, exceeding two tonnes, requires OEM-matched pad compounds to maintain ABS and stability system calibration. Carbon ceramic brakes were optioned on several models and require ceramic-specific pads; conventional compounds destroy the friction layer and ceramic discs cannot be resurfaced. Engine Filters & Service Consumables

The 6.0-litre W12 and 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engines powering most Bentleys in active service are high-output units demanding filtration meeting the original Bentley/Volkswagen Group oil specification. The W12 has high oil volume and an oil circuit designed around precise filter flow characteristics — off-specification filters affect oil pressure consistency in ways that stay invisible until premature wear is discovered.

Both the Bentayga W12 and the Continental GT require two air filter elements, not one — a detail frequently overlooked during independent servicing and a common cause of an incomplete service. Bentley air & oil filters → · Oil filters → · Service kits →

Cooling System — Radiators, Hoses & Condensers

The W12's cooling circuit manages the thermal output of twelve cylinders under sustained boost, and on first-generation Continental GT models (2004–2011) original cooling components including the main radiator and hoses have now been in service for over a decade. Radiator failure on these cars is typically progressive, beginning with small leaks that escalate if not addressed. The AC condenser, positioned ahead of the radiator, is a frequently co-replaced item during cooling work — worth doing together, since access dominates the labour. In Gulf conditions, hoses and expansion tanks harden well ahead of the European design case. Coolant parts → · Radiators → · AC compressors → · Water pumps →

Genuine OEM part numbers:

  • Continental GT / GTC (Gen 1–2) coolant radiator — 3W0198115J / 3W0198115G / 3W0198115B

  • Flying Spur (Gen 1) coolant expansion tank — reference by build date

Suspension & Steering — Air Suspension, Control Arms & Links

The Bentayga's four-corner air suspension is its most demanding long-term commitment. Struts, compressor, valve block and ride-height sensors form one connected system: a strut develops a leak, the compressor runs continuously to compensate, and the compressor burns out second. Catching the strut early often saves the compressor. Replace struts in axle pairs. Air strut seals, compressors and sensor brackets are the most frequent suspension items on the Gen 1 Bentayga (2016–2020), where cars are now accumulating significant mileage in GCC and European fleets.

The Continental GT's double-wishbone front geometry uses control arm bushings and ball joints requiring attention at higher mileage to preserve steering precision. A four-wheel alignment is required after any arm is disturbed. Air suspension compressors → · Control arms → · Shock absorbers → · Axle & steering →

Electrical & Body — Window Switches, Trunk Struts & Sensors

Window regulator switch assemblies on first and second generation Continental GT, GTC and Flying Spur models (2004–2018) are among the most frequently searched electrical items for these platforms. The switch board is available as a complete repair kit, which is more cost-effective and far less invasive than replacing the full door card. Trunk lid support struts on both the GT coupe and Flying Spur saloon are a straightforward service item.

Check battery and charging health before condemning any module — low voltage on a car with this parasitic load produces a multi-module fault cascade that clears once restored. Electrical parts → · Oxygen sensors → · Body parts →

Transmission

Early Continental GTs use the ZF 6HP, later cars the ZF 8HP, and the current generation uses a dual-clutch transmission — three different families with three different fluid specifications, so confirm which your car carries before ordering anything. None is genuinely lifetime-fill in Gulf conditions. Harsh 1–2 shifts, delayed engagement from Park and torque converter lock-up shudder around 40–70 km/h are the early signals on torque-converter cars. All Continental GTs are all-wheel drive, and the transfer case carries its own fluid and its own service requirement. Transmission parts → · Transmission mounts →

Known Service Priorities by Model

Continental GT & GTC (Gen 1 — W12, 2004–2011). Now in its second decade and carrying some of the highest mileage in the active Bentley fleet. Cooling system integrity is the primary structural priority at this age. Window switch boards are the most common electrical item. Front control arm bushings and anti-roll bar links are the most frequently replaced chassis components. The ZF 6HP26 six-speed requires correct service fluid and filter at defined intervals to prevent valve body and torque converter wear.

Continental GT & GTC (Gen 2 & 3 — W12/V8, 2012–2024). Moved to the MSB platform and gained the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 alongside the updated W12. Priorities shift to ZF 8HP fluid maintenance, brake consumable monitoring and air filtration. With W12 production concluded and V8 availability from these lines also retired in several markets, Gen 2 and 3 cars represent the majority of the active W12 and V8 Continental fleet globally.

Flying Spur (Gen 1–3, 2005–2024). Shares powertrain and core platform architecture with the contemporary Continental GT across all three generations, so parts overlap is significant. Gen 1 shares cooling priorities with the Gen 1 Continental; Gen 2 and 3 share the same W12 and V8 service cross-reference as their GT counterparts. The Gen 4 Flying Spur uses the Ultra Performance Hybrid combining the 4.0L V8 with an integrated electric motor.

Bentayga (Gen 1 & 2 — W12/V8). Bentley's best-selling model in the UAE and one of its highest-volume platforms globally. The Gen 1 W12 carries the largest active fleet of W12-powered Bentaygas and generates the highest volume of service parts demand — particularly oil and air filtration, ignition coils and air suspension. Remember the two air filter elements. Gen 2 (2021 onward) continues with the 4.0L V8, with the EWB variant adding a longer rear cabin and revised suspension geometry. Air suspension service is the single most frequently undertaken non-consumable repair on Gen 1 examples.

Mulsanne (2010–2020). Used Bentley's own 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V8 — an engine with origins in the 1950s, continuously developed until the Mulsanne's discontinuation. It is not shared with the Volkswagen Group W12 or V8 units and requires Mulsanne-specific service parts, including its own oil specification and filter cross-reference. With the model out of production, dealer parts availability will narrow over time.

W12 Retirement: What It Means for Parts Supply

Bentley concluded W12 engine production in April 2024 after more than 100,000 units built at Crewe over two decades. The retirement marks a major powertrain transition for the brand — and the beginning of a long aftermarket service period for the global fleet of W12-powered Continentals, Flying Spurs and Bentaygas that will need genuine OEM support for years to come.

We maintain a well-stocked catalogue of W12 service and mechanical parts — oil filters, air filtration sets, cooling components, brake consumables and suspension items — across all W12 platforms. As dealer inventory narrows over the coming service cycle, independent sourcing becomes increasingly important for these cars.

Buying Genuine Bentley Parts — USA, Europe & GCC

USA. The Continental GT and Flying Spur hold the largest share of active Bentley registrations, with a growing Bentayga fleet since 2016. We fulfil US orders from our US warehouse — no import duties, no customs delays. The large volume of Gen 1 and Gen 2 W12 Continentals in US ownership makes these the most in-demand platforms for our US customers. European auto parts USA →

Europe. Bentley is a British manufacturer, and European markets — particularly the UK, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands — carry the highest density of ownership outside the Gulf. European-specification cars include EU6 AdBlue systems on applicable models and ECE-compliant lighting, identified separately in our catalogue. British car parts →

Dubai, UAE & GCC. The Bentayga is the most popular Bentley in the UAE, followed by the Continental GT and Flying Spur, with the Mulsanne strongly represented in private and chauffeur fleets. GCC-specification cars are built with reinforced cooling and air conditioning for extreme ambient temperatures — components that differ from European and US variants. We dispatch from Dubai across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. Wholesale & retail UAE →

Bentley Accessories

Beyond replacement parts, we source hard-to-find accessories and finishing components — from chrome fender vents and grille sets to climate control modules and interior trim. Trim part numbers are tied tightly to interior specification, veneer and hide codes, and a high proportion of these cars carry Mulliner or bespoke commissioning, which makes standard catalogue matching unreliable. Send your VIN with any trim or body enquiry. Radiator grilles → · Contact our team →

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Absolutely. Premium aftermarket and OEM parts are manufactured to identical specifications as genuine components, often by the same suppliers. We source exclusively from tier-one manufacturers with ISO certifications and provide fitment guarantees. The only difference is the absence of Bentley branding and packaging—the engineering, materials, and performance remain identical.

  • Yes. All components include manufacturer warranties ranging from 12-24 months depending on the part category. Mechanical components (suspension, braking) typically carry 24-month warranties, while electrical and interior parts include 12-month coverage. We stand behind every sale with responsive customer support.

  • This is one of our specialties. Our global network includes relationships with OEM suppliers, authorized remanufacturers, and specialized archives for legacy Bentley models. While sourcing times may be longer for discontinued components (typically 2-4 weeks), we successfully locate parts for Continental GT models dating back to 2003 and earlier Arnage, Azure, and Brooklands variants.

  • We supply genuine OEM parts for the full Bentley range: Continental GT and GTC (all four generations, 2004-present), Flying Spur (all four generations, 2005-present), Bentayga (Gen 1 and Gen 2, including EWB, 2016-present), Mulsanne (2010-2020), and Arnage (1998-2009). W12, V8, Hybrid, and Mulsanne 6.75L powertrains are all covered

  • Yes. The W12 engine's retirement from production in April 2024 does not affect our parts supply for W12-powered vehicles. We maintain comprehensive OEM coverage for W12 service items - filters, cooling components, brake consumables, and suspension parts - across all Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga W12 platforms.

  • The Bentayga's W12 engine uses a dual-intake air filtration system requiring two separate air filter elements (OEM 36A133843, quantity 2). A single filter change leaves one side unserviced, compromising filtration effectiveness - a commonly overlooked detail during independent servicing.

  • Many Bentley parts differ between generations even within the same model line - particularly brake pads, suspension components, electrical modules, and body panels. The safest approach is to provide your VIN when ordering. Contact our team with your chassis number and we will confirm the correct OEM cross-reference before your order is processed.

  • Bentley recommends a service annually or every 5,000 to 10,000 miles, whichever comes first - a more frequent interval than most competitors. This means service consumables (oil filters, air filters, cabin filters, brake wear sensors, and wiper blades) are ordered more regularly, and maintaining a stock of genuine OEM parts matters more for these vehicles than for brands with longer intervals.

  • Yes. We offer wholesale and trade pricing for independent luxury vehicle workshops and fleet operators. Contact our team via phone or WhatsApp to discuss account terms and volume pricing.
