BMW Engine Mounts | Genuine OEM — F30, F10, X5, X7

Genuine OEM BMW Engine Mounts

Engine mounts are one of the cheapest ways to make a BMW feel new again — and one of the most commonly misdiagnosed. Vibration through the cabin at idle, a clunk on gear engagement, and driveline shunt on throttle transitions all point at mounts, and all regularly get blamed on the gearbox.

We supply genuine OEM engine and transmission mounts across the BMW range, matched to engine code and production date rather than model name. Send us your VIN and we will confirm before you order.

What to Know Before Ordering

Mounts are engine-specific, not model-specific. An N20 and a B48 in the same F30 body take different mounts. Ordering by model alone is the most common error here.

Replace in pairs. On the F10 5 Series and F30 3 Series in particular, engine mounts are best replaced as a pair — a new mount alongside a worn one carries disproportionate load and fails early.

Hydraulic and solid are not interchangeable. Hydraulic mounts are damped by design, and substituting a solid mount transmits noticeably more vibration into the cabin even where it bolts up.

Visible fluid means it is finished. A hydraulic mount that has lost its damping fluid is working as a solid rubber block from that point on.

Check the transmission mount at the same time. Powertrain mounts work as a system, and the labour overlaps significantly.

Heat accelerates it. Rubber and hydraulic mounts degrade faster in Gulf ambient temperatures than the European design case assumed, so calendar age matters as much as mileage.

FAQ

Is my vibration a mount or the gearbox? Vibration at idle that clears with revs, plus a clunk on gear engagement, points to mounts. Gearbox faults more often show as shift quality problems under load. Mounts are far cheaper to eliminate first.

Should I replace both engine mounts? On most BMW configurations yes. A new mount alongside a worn one takes disproportionate load and fails early.

How do I know which mounts my car takes? By engine code, which appears on your VIN record and the engine bay label. An N20 and a B48 in the same body differ.

Can I fit solid mounts for a sportier feel? They will transmit noticeably more vibration into the cabin. Where BMW specified hydraulic, that was a refinement decision.

How quickly will my order ship? In-stock orders dispatch from our UAE or USA warehouse with full tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions

    • Genuine Parts: These are the exact components installed at the factory, arriving in the original vehicle manufacturer’s branded packaging (e.g., Porsche or BMW).
    • OEM Parts: These are produced by the same manufacturers that supply the car brands (e.g., Bosch, Brembo, Lemförder) but are sold in the supplier’s own packaging, often at a more competitive price.
    • Aftermarket Parts: These are third-party components designed to meet or exceed original specifications.
