Wheels and brakes are where a car's engineering meets the road, and on European performance and luxury vehicles both are more specification-sensitive than owners expect. Brake pad compound, disc diameter and wear sensor part numbers follow the brake code on the vehicle data record rather than the model name, and wheel fitment depends on offset, centre bore and load rating as much as diameter.
We supply genuine OEM and factory-specification brake components and wheels across every marque we serve, including carbon ceramic systems. Send us your VIN or brake code and we will confirm before you order.
Compound must match the specification. M Sport, AMG Line, S line and equivalent packages take different pad compounds and often different disc diameters from the standard car. Fitting a standard-compound pad to a performance-braked vehicle is the most common cause of the low-speed groan and early fade owners blame on the discs.
Carbon ceramic is a different system entirely. CCM discs are standard across the McLaren range and common on AMG, RS, M and Ferrari models, with wider optional availability elsewhere. Conventional pad compounds destroy the ceramic friction layer within a single service interval, and ceramic discs cannot be resurfaced — replacement is the only remedy, at many times the cost of the pads responsible. Confirm the specification before ordering.
Discs and pads work as a pair. New pads on a lipped, heat-cracked or unevenly worn disc compromise both and bring the car back sooner. Where the disc shows thickness variation, replace together.
Wear sensors are single-use. A separate part number front and rear, designed to be destroyed in service. Replace with the pads — a reused sensor gives a false reading or none at all.
Heat is the limiting factor in the Gulf. Braking converts kinetic energy into heat, and ambient temperatures here mean discs and pads run hotter and closer to their fade threshold than the European design case assumed. This is a genuine argument for staying with factory-specification compounds rather than economising.

Genuine alloy wheels are engineered for weight, brake cooling airflow and load rating as well as appearance, and they must hold rotational balance under substantial lateral loading. Kerb damage, bent rims and corrosion around the bead are the common failure modes, and a bent rim produces a vibration frequently misdiagnosed as a suspension or driveline fault.
Wheel bearings and hub assemblies deserve attention at the same time. A droning noise that changes pitch when the car is loaded through a corner is the classic bearing signature, and on heavier SUVs bearings wear on a schedule set by mass rather than mileage. Wheel hubs & bearings →

How do I know which brake specification my car has? The brake code on your vehicle data record determines it, not the model name. Send us your VIN and we will confirm the correct pads and discs before dispatch.
Can I fit conventional pads to carbon ceramic discs? No. Conventional compounds destroy the ceramic friction layer, and CCM discs cannot be resurfaced. It is the most expensive avoidable error in brake servicing.
My brakes squeal — what causes it? Usually compound mismatch, missing or incorrectly fitted shims, or glazing rather than a faulty pad. See our guide on why brakes squeal →
I have a vibration at speed — brakes or wheels? Vibration under braking usually points to disc thickness variation; vibration at constant speed regardless of braking more often points to a bent rim or wheel balance. A bent wheel is regularly misdiagnosed as a suspension fault.
