Mercedes OEM Parts by Category

Brakes — Pads, Discs, Sensors & Carbon Ceramic (CCM)

Mercedes brake specification is driven by the brake code on the data card, not by the model badge. A W213 E-Class on standard brakes and the same car with the AMG Line package take different disc diameters and different pad compounds, and the wear sensor is a separate part number front and rear — the sensor is a single-use item and must be replaced with the pads, not reused.

AMG models optioned with carbon ceramic (CCM) discs require CCM-specific pad compounds. Standard pads on a ceramic disc will damage the friction layer within one service interval, and CCM discs cannot be resurfaced — the only remedy is replacement at several times the cost of the pads that caused it. Confirm your brake code before ordering. Mercedes brake pads & rotors → · Brake rotors & discs →

Suspension & Steering — Control Arms, Tie Rods & Bushings

Front upper and lower control arm bushings are the defining wear item on the W204, W205, W212 and W213 platforms. The progression is predictable: a knock over speed bumps first, then vague steering feel on centre, then inner-edge tyre wear that gets blamed on alignment. Mercedes supplies most of these as a complete arm with the bushing and ball joint pressed in, which is the correct repair — replacing the bushing alone in a worn arm returns the fault inside a year.

On AIRMATIC and E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL cars — S-Class, GLE, GLS, and the air-sprung E-Class — the air struts, valve block and compressor are a linked system. A failed strut that is left leaking will burn out the compressor by overworking it, so diagnose and replace together. Control arms → · Shocks & springs → · Wheel hubs & bearings →

Cooling System — Coolant Distributor, Radiators & Hoses

On the M276 and M278 engines, the coolant thermostat housing and its plastic distribution pipework sit in the vee of the engine and seep long before any temperature warning appears — the first evidence is usually a sweet smell and a slowly dropping expansion tank. The OM642 diesel has its own well-known oil cooler seal failure that presents as oil in the coolant valley.

In GCC ambient conditions, moulded hoses, the expansion tank and the auxiliary electric water pump age substantially faster than the European design assumption. Replace clamps and O-rings with the hose rather than reusing them, and use only the correct MB-Approval coolant specification — mixing types is a common cause of premature water pump seal failure. Engine Filters & Service Consumables

Mercedes ASSYST and ASSYST PLUS service indicators calculate their intervals on the assumption that factory-specification consumables and MB-Approval 229.5 or 229.52 oil are being used. Filters vary by engine family rather than by model — an M274 and an M264 in the same C-Class body take different oil filter elements, and the OM654 diesel differs again.

Order the complete service kit rather than individual lines: the oil filter housing O-ring and the sump plug crush washer are the two items most often missing when a service stalls halfway, and both are single-use. Cabin filters on GCC cars deserve a shorter interval than the book figure given the dust load. Air filters → · Oil filters → · Service kits →

Transmission — Dual-Clutch Service & Fluid

The 7G-Tronic (722.9) and 9G-Tronic (725.0) automatics are marketed as long-life fill, but heat-cycled ATF in Gulf conditions degrades well ahead of that assumption. Harsh 1–2 shifts, a delay engaging Drive from cold, and torque converter lock-up shudder around 40–70 km/h are the early signals — a fluid and pan-filter service at that point is a fraction of the cost of a valve body or conductor plate.

The 722.9 conductor plate and its 13-pin connector are a known failure point that produces limp mode and gear selector faults, frequently misread as a mechanical gearbox failure. AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT units take their own fluid specification — do not substitute standard ATF. Check the transmission mount at the same time; a failed mount produces a driveline clunk that mimics a gearbox fault. Transmission parts → · Mercedes transmission & engine mounts →

Electrical, Sensors & PHEV Components

Most Mercedes electrical faults presented as module failures turn out to be sensor or connector faults — crankshaft and camshaft position sensors, oxygen sensors, wheel speed sensors, and corroded connectors at the rear lamp clusters and the boot lid harness. Genuine sensors matter more here than almost anywhere else on the car: the ECU calibration is built around the OEM sensor's output curve, so an aftermarket unit reading a few percent off will run the engine in a permanently compensated state without ever setting a fault code.

For EQ and plug-in hybrid models — C 300 e, E 300 e, GLC 300 e, GLE 350 de and the EQ range — battery-circuit coolant pumps, charging port assemblies and high-voltage components are model-year specific and revised frequently mid-year. Send us the VIN for these rather than ordering from a model-year match. Electrical parts → · Oxygen sensors →
