OEM Mercedes-Benz G-Class Parts

The G-Class is unlike anything else Mercedes builds. It has been in continuous production since 1979 on a body-on-frame chassis with live axles and three locking differentials — and while the W464 introduced in 2018 modernised the front end substantially, the fundamental architecture remains what it always was. Our catalogue covers the W463 and the current W463A / W464, including G 500, G 550, G 63 AMG and the earlier G 55 and G 65.

Every part is matched to chassis code, engine code and production date. On a model built for four decades with continuous running changes, VIN verification is not a formality — it is the only reliable route. Send us your VIN before ordering.

Mercedes-Benz G-Class Maintenance Parts

The G-Class is serviced on a conventional interval but consumes filters and brake hardware faster than its road-biased siblings, especially on cars used off-tarmac. Dust loading is the variable that shortens every filter interval.

Filters and service consumables. Filters follow the engine family, not the model year, and the G-Class has carried an unusually wide spread across its production life. Order the complete service kit — the oil filter housing O-ring and sump plug crush washer are single-use. Air and cabin filters on a vehicle used in sand deserve materially shorter intervals than the book figure. Air filters → · Oil filters → · Service kits →

Brakes. Vehicle mass makes brakes a consumable, and G 63 AMG cars take different disc diameters and pad compounds from the standard vehicle. The wear sensor is a separate part number front and rear and is single-use. Mercedes brake pads & rotors → · Brake rotors →

Cooling. A heavy vehicle with a large V8 working in Gulf ambient temperatures, frequently at low speed in sand or traffic, asks a great deal of its cooling pack. Radiator stacks block with dust between the fins, producing overheating that clears on the move — inspect and clean the stack before condemning a thermostat or pump. M278 and M177 engines seep from thermostat housings and plastic pipework in the vee long before any temperature warning. Coolant parts → · Radiators →

About Mercedes-Benz G-Class Parts

Parts for the G-Class divide by generation before anything else. Identifying the chassis code — W463 and W463A / W464 — is the first step in ordering correctly, and facelift revisions within a generation matter as much as the generation change itself.

W463 (1990–2018) — The long-running generation, updated continuously across nearly three decades. Engines span the M113, M273, M278 and the AMG M156 and M157, with various diesels. Because running changes were constant rather than generational, two cars of the same nominal model year can differ. Recurring work centres on the differential lock actuators and their vacuum system, transfer case, axle seals, and suspension bushings carrying a heavy live-axle chassis.

W463A / W464 (2018–) — The current car, retaining the ladder frame, live rear axle and three lockers, but with independent front suspension replacing the front live axle and a substantially modernised interior and electronics package. The front suspension change means front-end components do not carry over from the earlier W463 at all. M176 and M177 V8 engines, plus the AMG G 63.

Differential locks and the vacuum system. The three locking differentials are the G-Class's defining feature and a genuine service item. On W463 cars the lockers are vacuum-actuated, and a locker that will not engage is more often a vacuum leak, a failed actuator or a perished line than a mechanical differential fault. Diagnose the vacuum circuit before condemning anything expensive — this is the single most misdiagnosed system on the vehicle.

Suspension and steering. A heavy body-on-frame vehicle with live axles puts substantial load through its bushings, steering damper and drag link. Wear presents as wandering steering and a knock over expansion joints, and on live-axle cars the steering damper and track rod ends deserve inspection alongside the bushings. Front-end components differ completely between W463 and W464 because of the independent front suspension change — never order by model name alone. Axle & steering → · Shocks & springs → · Wheel hubs & bearings →

Axle seals and driveline. Live axles, a transfer case and three differentials mean multiple fluid-filled housings, each with its own seals and its own service requirement. Axle seals weep with age and are frequently overlooked until the fluid level is low. The transfer case carries its own fluid separate from the gearbox. On vehicles used off-road or in deep sand, seal condition matters considerably more than the service book implies. Transmission parts → · Transmission & engine mounts →

Electrical and sensors. Check battery and charging health before condemning any module. On older W463 cars, connector corrosion and earth faults account for a large share of electrical complaints. Beyond that, most module failures are sensor faults — including the differential lock position switches. Electrical parts → · Oxygen sensors →

FAQ

A differential lock will not engage — is the diff damaged? Usually not. On W463 cars the lockers are vacuum-actuated, and the fault is far more often a vacuum leak, a failed actuator or a perished line. Diagnose the vacuum circuit first.

Are W463 and W464 parts interchangeable? Not at the front. The current car replaced the front live axle with independent suspension, so front suspension and steering components share nothing. Rear axle and some driveline items carry over more readily.

How do I identify my exact vehicle? By VIN. The G-Class ran with continuous running changes rather than clean generational breaks, so model year alone is not reliable.

It overheats at low speed in sand. Check the radiator stack for dust blockage between the fins and confirm the fans are working before replacing a thermostat or pump.

How quickly will my order ship? In-stock orders dispatch from our UAE or USA warehouse with full tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions

    • Genuine Parts: These are the exact components installed at the factory, arriving in the original vehicle manufacturer’s branded packaging (e.g., Porsche or BMW).
    • OEM Parts: These are produced by the same manufacturers that supply the car brands (e.g., Bosch, Brembo, Lemförder) but are sold in the supplier’s own packaging, often at a more competitive price.
    • Aftermarket Parts: These are third-party components designed to meet or exceed original specifications.
